Our Team
Devarshin Naidoo
DIRECTOR– ADVISORY
Devarshin co-founded ACS and serves as a director of the firm. He is a Chartered Accountant and Tax Practitioner with experience in corporate finance and financial management, both locally and abroad. He served his articles at Grant Thornton Durban before joining their corporate finance office in London, where he gained exposure to multinationals, listed companies, large private companies and IPO’s.
Devarshin’s passion is corporate finance. His core experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, company valuations, equity and debt capital raisings and corporate restructuring. In keeping with the firm's philosophy, Devarshin’s clients rely on his ability to provide key business advice and management consulting in all facets of their business, including the evaluation of the financial control and operational environment, corporate restructuring, strategy, and venturing into new markets.
Devarshin is involved in the strategy and direction of the firm as well as its day-to-day management, meeting and consulting with a broad spectrum of clients. He is hands-on in ensuring that all deadlines and targets are met and that all our client’s expectations have been exceeded.
Vivek Maharaj
DIRECTOR – ASSURANCE AND ADVISORY
Vivek co-founded ACS and serves as the director in charge of the assurance and advisory departments.
Vivek spent over 3 years at Grant Thornton, 3 years at Life Healthcare and 2 years at a private pathology laboratory. His recent position was the Chief Financial Officer at a Private Pathology Laboratory where he was responsible for financial reporting, restructuring, regulatory function for the business and migration of the business from family owned to corporate (including introducing internal controls). Vivek was responsible for providing strategic advice to the Board of Directors during the sale of the business.
Vivek has been exposed to a variety of industries, with the majority of his exposure and experience being in the medical and healthcare environment, where he gained valuable business consulting acumen.
Vivek is an IFRS specialist. His core experience includes financial reviews, financial modelling, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, management buy-outs, and equity and debt capital raising, negotiating on transactions.
He is recognised by his clients and team for his hands-on approach and for his practical problem-solving skills. He prides himself in his ability to share key business, technical, and industry insights with his clients. Vivek is known for his swift responses, practical issue resolution, and open and candid communication with his clients.
